E CARD 5
Dear All
This will probably be the last one. I have managed to find a English keyboard which is such a joy. You don't need shift for fullstops and numbers and a is in the right place!
I gather we have a Labour government for a third term. Fairly predictable. Did you vote for us Philip?
Last night was great. I was fed up with the same "smart" clothes so wore a turban which added a dimension. There was no taxi to hand so we got another horse drawn carriage for 6 of us and Majid took the other 4 in his car. Marrakesh is his home town. It was a lovely cool ride and a bit manic in all the traffic but lovely. The temperature got up to 40 degrees yesterday and I even caught the sun through my cotton trews on my legs.
The house was another boring outside but fabulous inside one with an internal balcony all the way round a central covered square space. we sat upstairs in a room open on one side to the balcony. The "animation" was live musicians on lute, drums, singing, guitar type things. We couldn't see very well. There was also a girl belly dancer with lots of tassels who dragged various of us up to join her in shaking it all about. There are a few photos!
The Morrocan salads are great and I am going to look for a recipe book before we come back. It was good to have some wine. The holiday has been relatively dry.
We walked into the square afterwards but it was relatively quiet . Bed after midnight! (Latest yet.) having checked the election voting status. We are back in the square this morning and have just seen some snake charmers. We are all packed up now. Majid is to take us to the station at 12 to catch the train to Casablanca then one night there and home tomorrow to arrive mid afternoon. We will get a taxi from there and be home later. Looking forward to seeing everyone and opening our treasures. we are taking Sarah out Sat night. Do you want to come too Philip and Anais?
See you then.
Love to all
Ruth and Peter
