"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett
Wonderful read - page-turner. Skitter, Aibleen and Minnie act to change the world and succeed in contributing massively but at some cost. Set in Jackson. Mississippi in the '60s when racism was a way of life.

"These foolish things" by Deborah Moggach
Really enjoyable read. Comment on society and older generation in this country contrasting with India and Bangalore in particular. Also comments on religions' support, prejudice, generation gap. Laugh out loud hilarious in places. Best read for ages.

Book I have just enjoyed - "The Muse" by Jessie Burton
Wonderful story. clearly set in time and space - England 1967 and Spain 1936. Good characters and interesting as you learn and have your eyes opened as you read. I now want to read the Miniaturist by the same lady.
